Over a decade, Renesas has joined forces with Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA) to shape the future of connected vehicles. At this year's annual meeting, attended by nearly 300 guests, Stephen Lawrence, Renesas’ Principal Engineer and COVESA board member, led three sessions of the Data Architecture and Infrastructure group track and an interactive workshop featuring COVESA Central Data Service Playground. Renesas received the prestigious "COVESA 2024 Innovator / Adopter / Contributor Award" for our contributions to the advancement and utilization of COVESA technology. “Being able to introduce the COVESA Central Data Service Playground to a broader audience was a great opportunity. Winning the award was a pleasant surprise and it was gratifying to receive our peers’ recognition for what Renesas is doing in open source. I truly enjoy learning from and collaborating with a wide range of people from market-leading companies,” said Stephen. Steve Crumb, COVESA Executive Director, commented, “Renesas was selected for the award for its exemplary adoption, contribution, and innovative use of COVESA technologies. Renesas has made substantial contributions to COVESA to date, bringing expertise in embedded systems and open-source software. By working together, we can accelerate innovation and create more robust and scalable solutions that benefit the entire automotive ecosystem.” Hisao Munakata, Sr. Director of Market Research at Renesas and COVESA board member, also shared, “Through our collaboration with COVESA, Renesas supports the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions, including Software-Defined Vehicles, an open data model like VSS (Vehicle Signal Specification), and an open emulation environment (Playground) for integrating vehicle data with the cloud. These contributions demonstrate our expertise and commitment to making positive impact on the automotive industry.” Check out the event recap and some moments from the event below! https://bit.ly/44HHtys #COVESA #ConnectedVehicles #AutoIndustry Photo credit: Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA)
