In honor of #EarthDay, we would like to share how Renesas is contributing to waste reduction and environmental protection. With a goal to maintain the waste recycling rate at 90% or more globally each year, we diligently implement 3Rs – Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle – during the manufacturing process and reuse the waste generated derived from our business activities as resources. At our global production sites, we ensure plastic packaging materials, such as trays and magazines, are efficiently reused. Carrier tape, cardboard and wafer cases are also being reused for other applications. In Japan, we have taken proactive measures in response to the new Plastic Resource Circulation Act (e.g., Increased BGA package size to reduce plastic waste, reusing bags produced during manufacturing process for cleaning instead of buying new garbage bags). "As we celebrate Earth Day, we recognize the importance of responsible waste management to protect our planet for future generations. We are committed to continuing our efforts to promote sustainability throughout our operations.” – Nobuyuki Yamanishi, Director of Environmental Promotion Department We invite you to learn more about Renesas’ waste reduction efforts: https://bit.ly/3vQAwhH #sustainability #environmentalprotection #PlanetvsPlastics
